My internet journey – Part 1

If you are reading this post, you are most likely a regular internet user just like me. In this post, I will share how the internet helped me in ways that I could ever imagine.

Β
In early 2000’s, accessing the internet was a dream to me as it was not easily available. Hearing stories from friends about browsing the internet, YouTube … seemed like a rocket science. However, things changed rapidly at a very fast pace. It began with Net cafes, then transformed to phones with internet capability, then with the introduction of smart phones, there was no going back.
Β

Browsing the internet for the first time:

I remember accessing the internet in 2010 for the first time on a Nokia 2700 classic mobile phone. Back then, data packs were costly compared to the packages available now. Out of excitement and curiosity, I used a lot of data and used all the recharge cards available at home (Don’t tell this at my home πŸ˜› ). Those were supposed to be used an entire year which I finished in a day.
Β
Coming to the topic of how the internet helped me, this post might not be enough (part 2 might be on the way πŸ˜‰ or I might not remember every instance. So let me begin.
(Knuckle cracking sound)
Β

Getting my first internet connection.

I got the go ahead to get an internet connection with the excuse to choose the colleges after EAMCET. It was a Reliance Dongle(one step ahead πŸ˜› ) prepaid plan. After the task was complete, I began exploring the internet and was amazed seeing all the data organized and almost everything available at the tip of the fingers. At the same time I was cautious too knowing the dangers.

Note: Always be vigilant and attentive, this will give you the best of the internet. Be careless and that will show the dark side of the internet.

Β

How the InternetΒ helped in interacting with others:

Being an introvert, socializing with friends face to face and expressing my thoughts/views was not so easy. With the help of social media and instant messengers, I have cleared that obstacle and which helped me a lot. I was not so interested in travelling and it was inconvenient when I had to visit new places or for interviews. Thanks to Google Maps, without the fear of getting lost , I was able to reach the location/places I wanted to visit. Not everything is perfect, so are the applications and information available online. It might sometimes cause difficulties if we are completely dependent on it.
Β
Β

Everything right at our fingertips:

This was just the beginning of my journey. With the assurance of the internet, I travelledΒ  different cities and states(not countries yet LOL). Booking tickets without have to waitΒ  in never ending queues, booking cabs without waving hands on the road for the cabs to stop, ordering food and what not.
